Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

We came here as a family to raise our margaritas together in a toast to the life of our patriarch, who passed on New Years Day. He had been fond of Mexican food so we considered it fitting to celebrate his life here. The food was good - my vegetable fajitas were flavorful and the roasted corn was a good touch. My virgin mango margarita was tasty too, and I liked the queso dip for the chips. So why the 3? First, as a veg person, I found the menu options limited. What at first looks like a decent "veggie section" is made far less decent by the notation that all of the sauces plus the Mexican rice are made with chicken stock. Second, when I asked the waitress to find out if any sauces at all here were veg, she neglected to return. Third, they forgot to salt my mango margarita. Hope to see some future improvements!

Was a weekly regular from the first day they open early 90s. Moved away in 2000 but now that I'm back had to check it out. Still good food n value and very friendly staff. Hard to find good Mexican in Atlanta area. Thanks for hanging in there and staying true to quality, value and customer satisfaction.

La Parilla has been a local favorite of ours for over a decade. We been with them long enough to see some changes, and for a while there, we're concerned they were slipping from their standard. Most recently we've appreciated a slightly better chip, both in its thickness and crispness. Their chips and salsa are back up to par and better than local competitors. But our favorite is hands down the Fajita Nachos (we ask for extra cheese dip with jalapeños). All in all, a consistent winner.

My fave Mexican spot in the Atlanta area! The taste of the food cant be beat!

Good food. Fast service. Kinda small but I like it like that. Drinks can be a lil pricey but they r stiff!

Omge , They Have The Best Mexican Food I Have Ever Tasted . I Have Either Their Burritos Or Fajitas Everytime I go & the taste is amazing each time I go . I High recommend either the Howell mill rd location or the powder springs location . ENJOY !!

I wish I could eat here more often. The food and service is good, and usually fast. The one time where it took about 30 minutes to get the food, about double the usual time, we were comped with desserts. The order is always correct and the servers were good with drinks and chips/salsa. The noise level is relatively low, even on Saturday nights, so you can easily talk with members of your party.

Food is very good. The sangria is the best. The burritos, fajitas, and enchiladas are very good

My husband and I come here quite a bit. It's not far from our house and it is good but not great. Yes, it is like a lot of other Mexican restaurants but it's Mexican. How different can it be? We always sit at the bar. We know most of the bartenders on a first name basis. They know us. They are always friendly. The food is good. The chicken soup is really good. The complimentary taco chips are always fresh. We have never had a bad experience. I don't particularly like the Mariachi band (I think on Sat. night.) Too corny for me but they have another singer that isn't bad and I think he sings on Friday nights.
(3)Jonathan A.
I love this place - the only place I know where you can get shredded chicken chile rellenos. Food is fresh and the service has always been good. Great place to bring the entire family.
(5)Jack S.
It's LaParilla. These places are all over Metro Atlanta. But they are all over because they are good! At least at this location you'll often find a crowd waiting outside on weekend evenings. Live music (one man bands) on the weekends also.

This is my all time Mexican restaurant. The steak tacos, steak nachos and La Parilla dip are amazing. The service is great too--they really aim to please. Only thing I would change is the frozen drinks. Too many ice cubes. Perhaps they need a better blender...not sure.
(4)Nicollette C.
Hands down BEST Mexican rest around! I've been going to this place for years, and now my boyfriend and I go at least 2x a week. We love sitting in Cecilia's section because she always remembers exactly how we like our margaritas, queso dip, and everything about our food that we order. So delicious! Check them out! BTW- they can do a 'side-by-side' margarita for you. I like the mango/pomegranate combo!
(5)LaTisha M.
Food is really good!! However their portion sizes not what I'm used to at my usual Mexican joint. The guacamole is amazing though!
(3)Endia Y.
Basically the best non authentic Mexican anywhere in Atlanta. Everything is delicious and the service is always excellent. The servers are always more than happy to answer questions. Our child enjoys it too!
(5)JuanDosi J.
Always good service. Food is good somewhat authentic. Drink prices good usually they treat you right. All and all you can't go wrong.
(4)Keon G.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are searching for some authentic Mexican food. The portion sizes were good as well as the customer service. This place has a large crowds on a Friday evening so get there early. The live Mariachi band was also a nice touch.
(4)Michael M.
Any reviews that state this is just an average Mexican restaurant is ridiculous. I visit weekly and they have top shelf service and food everytime. The staff are friendly and I have never had a waiter/waitress that could not speak english.. If you have a problem understanding them, it might be you and not them. I highly recommend the Carnitas and the fresh top shelf margaritas. As a fan of mexican food, I can guarantee their food stands out from the "average restaurants." The food is consistently fresh and the atmosphere is clean and friendly.

I love the food at La Parilla and this is a FANTASTIC location! I think compared to their counterparts in Norcross and Atlanta, this location has the BEST customer service! They star off by writing your name on a sticky note and placing it on the table. When the waiter greets you, he says, "Hello _ family" and proceeds to refer to you by that the entire evening. How awesome and personable! I love the prices, flavor, and menu variety at La Parilla. It's a nice blend between TexMex and authenticish Mexican good. Their shrimp burrito is made of puppy dog kisses, baby's breath, and unicorn's toenails! Be prepared to weep like a child because it's so good. I also like the variety of combination dinners they offer.
(5)Kristi K.
Best Mexican food I've had in a long time. The service was fast and the chips were fresh and crisp. I ordered the chima Rita and it was awesome
(5)Brian F.
La Parilla is a neighborhood favorite. Everyone is always friendly and you are sure to get great service. I guess I don't know what authentic Mexican is anymore but as long as everything is good, does it really matter. The table made guacamole is fresh as can be! Parilla margaritas will get the job done. Good music and good ambiance! I've had the tacos on several occasions and I've never been disappointed. This doesn't feel like a chain restaurant and hopefully they keep it that way.
(4)Karo R.
The food was good, tasty steak and chicken. Seasoned just right, fresh salsa.and Great service. The restaurant was packed!!!
(3)Thomas H.
Pretty good. Will go back to try more.
(4)Brandi T.
Very good! I love their shrimp burrito. Giving 4 stars because they always seem to burn some of my shrimp.
(4)La H.
I have had food catered from this restaurant before, but this was my very first visit to this restaurant. This location is very nice and has an inviting atmosphere. However, the music in the restaurant was so loud that we practically had to scream in order to have a conversation. The staff were very attentive and courteous. We were immediately served chips and salsa by our waitress, Raven, once we sat down. We were almost finished with our bowl of chips, and were immediately served another bowl of chips with salsa. The chips were good, but needed salt. I ordered the #17 combo which was a Burrito, Enchilada with Mexican rice and beans. My husband ordered the Surf and Turf. Our children had the chicken finger kids meals. Our food was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes made it very filling. My first experience at this restaurant was great!
(4)William H.
Great service and food. I love good Mexican and hate poorly prepared or served . Will definitely go back when we revisit Atlanta.
(4)Latecea L.
Pre-bday celebration dinner for me at one of my favorite mexican restaurants. I just love mexican food.
(4)DeNay G.
I've been to La Parrilla multiple times. Its a typical mexican restaurant. Overpriced, sub par food but decent service. The Powder Springs location is always packed. It can get crowded and extremely loud on the weekends. It's okay if you're desperate for mexican food.
(2)Tamara R.
THE best customer service! And, if you know anything about la parrilla, you already know the food is great. Especially those chips and salsa.
(5)Torey T.
The shredded chicken nachos are very delicious. Go during the lunch hours and get a 32 oz margarita.
(3)Susan S.
I have had Chimichangas in some of the best Mexican Restaurants. They have the best brisket chimichanga i have ever eaten. I love love love this place. One down side is that the food is so good there is almost always a wait to be seated.
(5)Kyle A.
Great food and drinks! Staff was friendly as well.
(5)Jake D.
They have really good food, especially the "The Burrito La Parilla". Seems they need a lil more room for bigger parties but they made it work.
(4)Irma Z.
Much better, had burrito a la parrila. Steak, med well. Skinny margarita knocked me out. Nice that they have a patio.
(4)James M.
We Love La Parilla! It is the best Mexican Restaurant in the area! We are regulars at the West Cobb restaurant on Dallas Highway and go there nearly every Thursday night! You'll find us sitting at the bar drinking margarita's, eating, and making new friends!
(5)Erik M.
We generally go to La Parilla when we're in a pinch... It's a good Mexican restaurant and we have four of them within sneezing distance. I love the chili rellenos or anything with steak or brisket! Every one of these places that I've been to gets a ton of business which is a good sign for any restaurant, the downside is that all that business makes it cramped.
(4)Mary J.
This is a favorite......a once a week favorite. There are quite a few La Parrillas, and they're growing - but this location is (so far) the best I've tried. While it is a chain, it's privately owned by family - who live in the Atlanta area. After going a few times, they know your name, and it's like going to your corner eatery. I usually order the fish tacos on corn tortillas; but occasionally break it up with fajitas, shrimp soup or nachos - none of which have disappointed me. My granddaughter (4) asks to come here regularly (not a McDonalds kid); she loves their steak, grilled to tender perfection - along with the La Parrilla cheese dip. Would I recommend it? Definitely. Unless you're a gambler - this is the place where your money is well spent, and your appetite for Mexican completely satisfied.
(4)Lili A.
I like this location. The drinks are well made. Karina is the best bartender

OMG! Very Impressed!! We just returned from La Parrilla at Powder Springs. When we arrived we found out that every Monday they have a special, today was chicken or shrimp fajitas for $8.99 and steak fajitas for $9.99. The facility looks very clean, everyone receives you with a great smile and making you feel that they are happy to see you. They seated us promptly and served chips and salsa. The music playing at the perfect volume (not too loud) was salsa, so it gave a nice touch. Our server Ramses was SUPERB! First of all, he welcomed us and made us feel like we were at home. I ordered the shrimp fajitas with onions, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, rice and beans. My husband ordered the chicken fajitas. Then, Ramses gave us suggestions about the different tortillas (flour or corn) to accompany our meals. He offered another serving of chips and salsa without hesitation. Our food was served in a timely manner and was perfect! The flavor of the shrimps was heavenly good and just with the correct texture, juicy and plummy. The portions are big, I even asked for a box to take home. To our surprise, the Store Manager Ely brought us a serving of sopapilla (dessert with honey, brown sugar, chocolate and whip cream) because she heard it was our first time. And she took the time to talk to us and meet us. Great touch! Greatly appreciated! You have gained two new customers, we will come back and make sure to invite neighbors, friends and family to join us. Guess who will be back at La Parrilla this Friday when they have Mariachi? We will DEFINITELY Highly Recommend this location!!

Great Restaurant, Not exceptionally fast service but quality food. Try the Texas fajita quesadillas. Great margaritas. Be prepare to pay a bout $20.00 per person.
(5)Bonnie W.
We have many Mexican restaurants in our area. La Parrilla in Powder Springs is my favorite. I have never had a bad experience. Food is fresh, flavorful, and hot. I have always had excellent service. The restaurant typically draws a large crowd. Especially on Friday and Saturday nights you need to go early. The line can get very long by 7:00 PM!
(5)Chris W.
Least impressive La Parilla I've been to so far (also been to Howell Mill and Kennesaw). Atmosphere and food was just fair. We ate at the bar and the bartender was inattentive (had to flag him down every time, never checked on us), got my food order wrong twice, then claimed he discounted my meal but that was after he overcharged me for a meal I didn't order. The other employees seemed friendly and my friend enjoyed his meal so this place wasn't a total bust, but I'll most likely look elsewhere for my Mex fix next time around.
(3)Jacquelin H.
Had lunch with a co worker here one day and I have been before on another occasion. Both times the servers were always very nice and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The good isn't the best Hispanic food I have had but it's good and the prices and cheap.
(4)David P.
La Parilla (The Grill) is a typical Mexican restaurant. The food was decent, the server needed a few more lessons in English to understand my awesome Southern accent. The one problem that I have is the servers all have their phones hanging out of their back pocket. The server took my order, gave it to the kitchen then proceeded to text and fool around on her phone until the food was ready. I don't mind what they do but not in the booth next to me.
(3)Samantha L.
This is yet another La Parilla chain, but for Powder Springs, this place is decent. Always busy, service is quick and friendly and the quality was great! The margarita's are awesome, and beer prices are decent. Been here twice so far and pleased both times. I shall return!
(4)Josh B.
This La Parilla is literally minutes from my house, if i wanted to walk there i wouldn't even begin to sweat. The bartender is always on point. He is quick with the drinks and when i have an order to go its there as soon as he says it will be. I usually call when i leave the house and its almost always there when i get there or soon after. The waitstaff is quick and friendly and the food is always very good. Its not often that i have a less than excellent experience there. The bar selection is good, the standard Mexican beers, nothing surprising. The tequila selection is excellent with lots of good anjeo tequila for people who like to taste their liquor. As for the food, I usually get the fajitas but the salads are also very good and the fish tacos are excellent. The wife likes the nachos but for some the quality of those has fallen off as of late.
(4)JoVonn G.
This is the second La Parilla location I have visited. I like the first better. It seemed more cramped in this location. I think the food wasn't as good either. It took awhile for someone to take our drink order and I don't think it is any busier than the South Marietta Parkway location.

I love Mexican food.. but this place is no different than any other. They all have the same menu. I went to this place 3 times. And each time I had the worst service. Food took forever, order wrong... no hablo english. Defiantly won't return... 3 other Mexican restaurants within 5 miles with decent service.
(1)Jacob J.
Place is just the same old Mexican restaurant. The couple of times that we have went we have had servers who don't know how to speak english well, that gets annoying and frustrating. Food is ok, not many vegetarian options to choose from.
